LifeCare Ambulance plans, prepares and trains in the communities served using an all-hazards approach for incident management. LifeCare Ambulance also continues to provide assistance to areas throughout the county affected by disasters as a contractor in the National EMS contract through AMR.
LifeCare served an EMS role in a reception site in Battle Creek for evacuees for Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Since 2005 LifeCare Ambulance deployed in response to Hurricanes Rita, Ike, Gustav and Sandy.
LifeCare also coordinated the EMS response to the largest inland oil spill in the history of the Midwest in 2005.
LifeCare has a team of Paramedics with specific training in hazardous materials patient decontamination and tactical EMS. These Paramedics are integrated into teams throughout the service area providing specialized medical support.
